WATERLICHT NYC by artist Daan Roosegaarde was installed on the public plaza at the Lenfest Center for the Arts on October 22, 23, and 24, 2019. Gavin Browning was part of a small team from Columbia University School of the Arts that brought WATERLICHT NYC to New York as part of the Year of Water. He also organized a related lecture by Dean Roosegaarde. The installation was visited by nearly 10,000 people over three nights.
“WATERLICHT NYC is a site-specific, large-scale light installation by acclaimed Dutch artist and innovator Daan Roosegaarde. Translated as "water light," this immersive, public art event illuminates the power and poetry of water, while raising awareness of rising global sea levels.”
